A Gem in Germantown…Founded in 1968 and coined as a “Gem in Germantown” by its participants, Center in the Park (CIP) is a nationally accredited non-profit senior community center located in the Germantown community of Northwest Philadelphia. CIP has evolved from a traditional senior center into a nationally recognized “wellness center” model providing older adults with opportunities to engage their minds, bodies, and spirits.

Celebrating its 54th year, CIP continues a history of empowering older adults to experience positive opportunities of aging through the realization of its mission: to promote positive aging and foster community connections for older adults whose voices are critical instruments in shaping its activities and direction.

In Home Support & Center Counselor

The In-Home Support Program (IHSP) is designed to assist older adults with regaining control of their health and staying independent. IHSP can deliver a wide range of services in the privacy of a consumer’s home. For older adults age 55+ who are able to come to the Center, a professional social worker is available on-site to assist with a variety of issues.
